How you can help

We welcome participation from anyone who shares our commitment to improving education in South Africa. If you want to get involved, a variety of of opportunities exist:

• Visit a class. Visitors are encouraged to attend classes to see our impact firsthand.
• Teach. Competent maths teachers are hard to find. We are also looking long-term to extend our teaching into other 'hard' subject areas like English and the Sciences. Talk to us if you think you can help with our academic program.
• Web support. You can support us on sites like Facebook and Twitter.
• Local marketing. Help us with promotion, publicity and fund-raising in the Knysna area - local radio and newspaper coverage, activities linked to major events such as the Knysna Oyster Festival, Knysna Cycle Race, local brand awareness using stickers, T-shirts etc. We welcome any good ideas you have.
• Digital media content. We need media content from Knysna to cover our ongoing activities there. Images, video, text messages (SMS, tweets) etc. If you live in Knysna and are comfortable with PCs and digital media (formats, editing, compression..) then please get in touch. Not much of your time can make a big difference to us.
• Give. FLKS is a lean operation that depends on the direct contributions of supporters. We welcome direct donations of text books, school supplies and money.
